Default Scared myself to death :)

Last night I decided to flash my 47 hitachi with the f900 fw so I could get the ss of some originals I wanted to copy. All went well, flashed original, flashed f900, extracted ss, flashed original back....froze half way thru...waited ten mins, still froze. wtf, I've bricked it remembered I'd left a disc in when I flashed it back, FFS I thought bahhhh, wouldn't eject or anything. Stamped about for half an hour getting really angry with myself for being such an idiot and leaving a disc in.....had to pull the power on the pc as it wouldn't reboot....drive detected in bios, disc ejected, drive detected in windows....flashed original fw, flashed hacked fw...all working fine again....PHEEEEEUUUUUUUWWWWWW lol

so FYI.....don't leave a disc in when you flash your fw or you'll have to wash your underwear afterwards

    hehe

cos it says to always flash from an original fw

    original...xtreme1.2...original...f900...original...xtreme1.2

that's how I did it as that's what the tut told me to do. I think they recommend to always start with original because of possible flash corruption. Anyways, it worked (eventually lol)

He he, I did a m8's Hitachi the other day, done the 2 wire trick and "bang" 3 red lights!!!!

"Shit whats going on here" I thought.

Turns out that 1 of the pin wires wasnt in properly so no harm done, thankfully.

if you brick a hitachi drive, it can be recovered.
I sent a mates drive to a company called Swaytech on monday, all fixed and posted back to me yesterday, very good service.
and a damn useful service if you ever end up with a bricked hitachi.
£35 for the repair (including return delivery) , rather that than a replacement 360 price.
