Have any of U guys seen the Stealth Dimmer Chip ? It enables U to toggle up / down through 8 preset brightness levels using any combination of the GB Adv buttons.... works really well !! better than the pot : ( no extra casing to be cut and can be fitted at a later date !
Theres a guy called Goldberg who sells mods selling them in the UK : )

    hmm that sounds nice.
I am still waiting for my GBA to arrive from portable gamer. Does that mean I can install the stealth dimmer chip after I have already installed the AfterBurner?
oh and any link for it around?

    thanks!

I went to a computer fair today off Tottenham Ct Rd and there was a stall there with a guy fitting afterburners for £45. He showed me a demo I was well immpressed. Ill take mine to be done next week, he says it will take him about half an hour to install. Also on another stall they sell 4 Uniross 1700mah batteries for £8, sorted

installed mine, very VERY happy with it... are you watching nintendo ? this is how GBA should have been shipped...

I bought a spare AR film too and i'm glad i did, as i stuffed the first one when i got some dust on it, but it came off easily and the 2nd one went on like a dream. I was sent a free 3 prong screwdriver too that I didnt ask for (thanks guys ) and the soldering is a doddle. I didn't install the dimmer as I have one of the stealth dimmer chips (not installed yet)

It's a great product and makes the GBA so much more useable

Malty....quick off topic question. How do the GBA Solder points compare to say the solder points for the Enigmah or X-ecuter?

I found these ones laughably easy that's all

the one on the board (where the resistor connects) is slightly smaller than the solder points in an xbox

DAMN Portable gamer I STILL have not received my beloved GBA and they promised I would get it yesterday or today
Why oh why don't I know how to solder?!

Hope they haven't ****ed it all up. Anyone know of a place that installs the stealth dimmer chip?

I am having mine done there today. It is the Huntley St. fair, once you enter turn the fair walk right, there will be a few stalls, in the corner there is a Chinese guy who sells mobile phone accesories and mods phones etc. he will do the afterburner for you

I received mine from portable gamer today.
At first I thought it was utter CRAP, I mean the A/B and not the installation - all the colours appeared washed out and shit. But actually I was mistaken (must have been sleepy) as it looks totally great! Only downfall is trying to play in a semi lit environment, where you have to find a good angle (cause of that antireflector thing I guess). The colours are actually washed out A BIT (to proove it I stood next to a window in bright day light - alas the real screen colours materialised which are much fuller).
But, all in all it's a great great thing to have installed!
Portable gamer installation is very good also (had a replacement screen installed also) and there are 2 small specks of dust in the top right, 1 cannot be seen unless you tilt screen, the other is seen at a normal gameplay angle, but it's small it doesn't affect anything at all.

Yeh the AB does kinda wash the colours out alittle. It's due to the White Light source, it gives the screen a blueish tinge. It takes awhile to get used to, but the payoff is superb. I couldn't be without it.

Try playing Castlevania at 11pm at night without getting a sore neck craning for the light. No need with a AB

www.Lik-sang.com do the full Afterburner kit and it includes the triwing screwdriver. You can also buy pre-modded cases so you don't have to chop into your original case to fit the dimmer.
    Check it out here

The install manual can be found here

    Good luck
