      Is there any way of turning the contrast up on it? - Reduce the washed out colour?

      Do you have another type of removable memory drive attached to your PC or installed - e.g. Compact Flash drive?

      If so I had the same problem and just had to disable the device in my setup for the GBA flash to work. Just an idea.
