NIGERIAN Scam attempting twat

Hi,

Put my old phone on ebay and a london registered user with zero feedback bought it.

Then got an email stating she had paid by paypal and could I post to NIGERIA.

Then got a blatantly false paypal email saying money held until postage confirmed due to currency difference - total shite.

Obviously nothing in my paypal account - never will be.

Sent a message to the user pointing out their scam is so badly done they will never get the phone.

Opened a dispute with ebay and re-listed the item.

Is that all I have to do ?

fortunatley you didnt lose anything, you were lucky but unfortunatley that is all you can really do to be honest.

just state in the auction that you do not post overseas and no zero feedback bidders, i think there is a setting in ebay somewhere that disallows zero feedback bidders to bid on your item, not too sure though

Also you should ask for the ebay fees to be lifted as it was a scammer. You shouldn`t be out of pocket for this

You can also select the places you want not to sell too

Anything like this that I sell on there I always put any one with less than 5 feedback to email me first. Also put UK only.

Ebay has sounded a bit like a minefield for selling these past few years. I do use it for buying quite often but not selling. I don't link my bank to it or have money in a PP account either.

I prefer to ply any sales I have on my regular forums and local websites.. except this one as I haven't paid me dues lol.
