Anyone else out there realise that the u.k. and Australian release of this film( on DVD ) is a whole HALF AN HOUR shorter than the U.S version??? I am shocked.

The film was recut by Kubrick after it got a slating when it was originally released in order to make it a tighter less indulgent film and despite a recent re-release on dvd it has remained that version in the uk. The scenes which are missing make very little difference to the film overall and only involve minor characters. How do I know this? A number of years ago ITV screened the uncut version late at night. If they ever get round to screening it again I was expect it to be uncut again so watch out for it if your a fan of the film it is the only way it is likely to be shown in the uk uncut. Although if your really a fan of the film you will probably have imported the uncut version on dvd.

I`m happy to say i got the region 1 today from cd-wow, states it is nearly half an hour longer on box, which is morelike 25 mins i expect. Will watch it soon, and reply here, as i have both region 2, and region 1 to compare to. I also picked this up for £8.99 which i thought was quite good really.
