Hmm i`m no film buff but i think you`re thinking of Poltergeist & the little girl "Carolanne" AKA Missy Gold did die of a heart attack shortly after the films were made.

The Shining is a cool film but not so sure about being the scariest but i loved it !!

Braindead has got to be the no.1 for gore but is really silly in places too. Watch this & you`ll never eat custard again !! Hehe

    great thread

Yeah, I know she did, but when i borrowed the exorcist from me Mate, she had the special edtion one, with all the interviews after, and they were talking how a few had died afterwards...

i believe some crew members dies from the exorcist, but not linda blair (the girl) as she was in the exorcist 2 and the the spoof 'the posessed' they also said that fires use to erupt on the set with no reason?
However i dont believe the bit about some crew members dieng, i mean would they have made the film if people were dieing?

the religious crap in films scares the shit out of me but im a really paraniod guy anyway i can watch angel or buffy and have to take a knife to the backdoor with me when i take the dog out....
but any film where they do those time lapse frame when they have ppl moving really jerkily like in thirteen ghosts just freeks me out...

the scariest film of all time for me will be the first scary movie that i watched and have never been able to watch again ( salems lot) that filum ****ed up my life...every credit to the makers

Salems lot is a Stephen King movie, pretty good too.

I remember when it was first shown on TV back in the early 80's and it was shown as a TV series in about 4 parts.

Everyone used to talk about it then and it was pretty scarey at the time

Yeh seen Audition, wouldn't exactly call it scary though.. more sick, twisted, warped, disturbing!!

Worth a watch, definitely need a stong stomach my mrs had to leave the room at the 'you know what bit! '

Not quite as good as Ring or Battle Royale but worth a watch1

jeez, are you all forgetting 'the Entity', f*ck i was about 11 when i first saw it, poltergiest attacking that women, raping her and stuff.

and then at the end, just to scare the crap out of ya a little more, there's an update on how the women is still suffering attacks occasionally...................today.

just to drill it home that it was based on a true story..........freaky!.

@Xdam I think they've bin sayin they r makin Jason versus Freddy 4 ages, like b4 they made Jason X. Its probably that a script has been greenlighted but thats it. I think I heard the story is in New York and Freddy jumps in2 Jasons dreams and Jason must hav bin havin a dirty one or sumat cuz hes ded pissed off and wants 2 f**K Freddy up!

I think the actress of the little girl was the landlord in Miami 7 (S Club 7's program)!

Day of the dead was mentioned early in the thread and I don't know if it is the scariest film but it is definitely one of the most disturbing horror films legally available, I saw when I was still at school and I had never seen gore like it at the time (I had seen plenty 'video nasties' but the gore always seemed so fake even as a kid, with the possible exception of nightmares in a damaged brain which looked fake but was nevertheless particularly effective). The special effects for day of the dead are totally gross and I am amazed the region 2 dvd uk version was released uncut. It is such a bleak film, for the majority of charecters there is nowhere to go, they are going eat you whatever you do so don't even bother trying to survive. The film that last gave me the shivers was return of the living dead I know it was a sort of black comedy but the zombies in that were relentless, not like the slow ones in Romano and itailan zombie films and they could speak! The first friday the thirteenth was scary at the time but as has been mentioned before it depends how old you are when you first see the film in question. I can't think of a recent film which has scared me in the last 10 years.
