Default Echelons selfboot without scsi how to find number

    hello
wanted to know if anyone know a way around this to find out the numbers needed for echelons selfboot, with a liteon 24x40x12 non scsi
tried the command cdrecord -dev=x,x,x -msinfo
but couldnt open scsi due to no scsi installed.

need this to fix kof2000 cd with graphics.

Try 1,1,0. If that doesn't work (I bet it won't work), try installing the latest ASPI layer. For some reason, it magically started working after I installed the aspi layer after installing cdrwin 3.9a.

Fire up CDRWIN and beside the name of your CDRW should be 3 numbers that'll be the -dev numbers you need. As for the 11700 and 11702 if you'd actually read the rest of the tutorial it would tell you how you tell which number applies to you !

    Squiz,

cdrecord really should work with your lite-on. My 24x12x40 in this machine is actually a rebadged lite-on. Only thing different I notice between it and my 32x12x48 (besides the speed) is that it runs at UDMA4 (instead of my other lite-on running at UDMA2)

So anyways, guessing that my TDK and your Lite-on are the same drive, it should work man. Just installing adaptec's newest ASPI drivers should be all you need to do. My TDK started working after I installed cdrwin 3.9a and then installed the new aspi layer. So I'm not sure if it was installing cdrwin or the aspi that did it. But it really should be the ASPI layer that took care of it. However, I am running a 40x plextor cdrom off an adaptec 2930U scsi card in here. But always have been. So I really doubt you need a scsi controller in there to use it.

You don't need a SCSI burner. The command "cdrecord -scanbus" should give you the correct device number for your CD recorder. If it doesn't work, you may need to upgrade/install your ASPI layer - go to this website:

    http://www.afterdawn.com/software/cd...ls/frcaspi.cfm

Download the ForceASPI installer and run it. Hopefully, cdrecord will work after that. If you have any questions about fixing KOF2K, please go back and read the entire thread, okay?
