It will work for your games.
buy a proper rgb scart cable for £5 and your games will play in full colour.
Ps2 scart has dodgy wiring to stop u playing imports
FK1team is right, all you need is a decent scart lead and all your games should play in colour. I had the same problem for weeks and it done my head in
tried that still not working - still in black n white

If your TV doesn't even support RGB, you should spend your money on a new TV instead of consoles.
PSX Video patching tools do not work the same on PS2.
I think ADR and PDX have pretty much sussed out most PAL patching routines for PS2. The hardest thing is getting a Y fix.
PS2 is a lot more complicated than PSX, hence no nice easy Genetic patching tool.
I shall be releasing ADR Patcher 0.5 which will include simple NTSC and PAL patching routines (no Y Fix).
However, if a certain intro of the game was done in PSS chances are that it will still be black / white as that is basically a MPEG2 movie file and video mode fixing is usually done to the main exe.

Well, if your TV used to display them ok, you need to start asking yourself what has changed.
From either cables in the back of TV, changed the SCART socket from 1 to 2 (a lot of TVs only support RGB on SCART Socket 1).
Or check your PS2 options in System Configuration to make sure it's set up for Composite Video Out = RGB.
If after all that it still don't work then test your PS2 on someone elses TV and there's on yours etc. to find out if its a console or TV fault.
