HP has come forth with some more snippets of info regarding its Slate PC, as Apple prepares the much hyped launch event for its tablet.

The HP Slate, a joint venture with Microsoft, was previewed at CES in Steve Ballmer’s opening keynote.

HP’s CTO Phil McKinney has been chatting some more about the device on a video on the net, although in general terms rather than anything specific such as technical specs.

He talked about the fact that it definitely isn’t a prototype, and he confirmed it would be out in 2010.

McKinney also said that the price will be “affordable” – perhaps meaning it will be more affordable than a certain Apple rival.

We don’t think any of this has done much to kill Apple’s buzz, however.
