DSI Question

I am thinking of buying a DSi for my daughters birthday.
My wife wont let me customize it till the warranty runs out, but i was wondering ifyou can watch films on it out of the box?
any help would be good.

What do you mean customize it ? you can run games using a cart and micro sd card with no modification of the console what so ever.

If you get a flashcart with moonshell you can watch movies without having to modify the DSi in any way, but I wouldn't bother. The movies have to be converted which takes about an hour and you can only watch them on the top screen.

IMO it just looks shite.

As Fear says, you don't have to modify the console at all. There's no way of voiding your warrenty as the flashcard does all the work
