AMSTRAD DRX200 - Complete Newbie

Hi I am wondering if anyone can help me as I am a complete novice to this and premised a friend I would look it up fir him.

My m8 has a AMSTRAD DRX200 with a fixed dish (I don�t know the direction) and is paying someone �30 per month for a SILVERCARD to get programmed to access channels. I told him no way should he be paying that hence this post for some help.

What I need to know is:
1. what type of card (silver, gold or fun card etc)
2. what type of info it uses (SECCA, etc)
3. what type of hex to put on the card (I dunno if he is using any kind of different CAM to the original STB)

basically as much info as poss.

I would be so grateful of someone could help me out.

ERM IS THE AMSTRAD A SKY RECEIVER...IF SO THEN MAYBE HE JUST GETS SKY AND NOT SECA ETC .FIND OUT THEN CALL BACK WITH ALL THE RIGHT INFO

All i know m8 is that they allready have a silvercard in use and can receive a whole load of chans.... they use it for the footie in the pub.

but i have een trying to get in touch with him, think he has lost yet another mobile.

if it is drx200 then it is only sky digi compatible it will however if aimed at another sat give him some free channels if they are within the 27500 fec rate he can store only 50 of these said channels, this reciever will not and never has been able to accept a different CAM so therefore no silver card is required......
