Default Highest possible quality DVD screencaps

    Hello all,

I am interested in buying a program with which I can take screenshots of my DVD movies.
I know you can take screenshots with freeware programs such as PowerDVD and snagit but the quality just sucks. What I need is a professional tool that ensures the absolute highest quality.

Are there any guru's here that can help me out with this.

    Any comments are highly appreciated,

    Kind regards

You have to remeber that when DVD's are played on a comp, they use a directshow filter to be displayed... which means in most cases, you wont be able to use a standalone screen-cap program to capture the images. Your best bet would be to use WinDVD's capture function, as it uses bitmaps for the caps. This is about as close as you'll get to a totally uncompressed/raw screen-dump.

Each WinDVD cap comes out to approx 1.18 megs also, which is always more than enough to work with in a web/72/96 ppi environment.

i personally recomend playing ur dvd son a tv screen or player and just hooking upa digi cam to them and taking screen shots of whats oging on in the screen (the dvd playing). that will get u whatever megapixel quality the cam can do.

I guess HyperSnap-DX.v4.xx.xx would do it.

InterVideo WinDVD4 has a screenCapture function built in the program...works perfectly.
You can take as many screens as you want and then save it on your harddrive.
