lol I've come by the thread again but read it a bit more thoroughly. ABCman I see more and more people suggesting policies similar to yours but no party supports them. How long is it going to take before a party comes around to these ideas (or is created to support them)?!? It seems crazy to me that more policticians haven't picked up on it, I think they would be surprised to see the support they gain.

I think the problem with politics today is that we try too hard to reach theoretical perfection on policies and so fall short of achieving anything that really benefits anybody (or British people at least).

Neways, gone off on one now, wonkyfox whats the word on your progress?

that is a big problem, no-one wants to do anything that might be seen as being 'extreme' by one side or the other. as soon as policies are stated that do go beyond what people expect it seems that the minorities of the other side jump in and criticize it. at this point those whove come up with the ideas arent willing to stand by what theyve said for fear of being permanently ostracised. this then ignores what might be a 'silent majority' view because of the minority who are prepared to shout the loudest. we need someone who is prepared to stand by what they say on what may be contentious issues and not back down when it appears that they might be about to be heavily criticised. provided what they say is a valid and fair point those that do oppose it are likely not to have as great an effect where it matters, in the elections themselves because they wont have the numbers.

To Be honest i havent given it much thought lately,ABCMans reply after my opening post gave me a lot to thinkabout, and after reading it i realised i don`t know as much about politics as i thought!!!LOL,
There are richer and cleverer men out there than me, and they have`nt started their own parties yet, so i`m not sure if i would ever have a chance.I certainly would be no front man, but maybe more in the background....who knows..nice to be able to speculate, about how we would run the country, given the chance!!

Strange comment coming from a Jock as your country has a population crisis http://www.sundayherald.com/34299 - so it's either more immigrants or more shagging !
