cool. shows the competiton is a good thing. although nintendo seem to be sticking to there price:

"It is a surprising move and may indicate that Sony are feeling the pressure from the recent platform launches.

"Nintendo Gamecube had an extremely successful launch, selling one million in just 11 weeks, and its installed based is continuing to grow rapidly."

Within moments of our speculation that Microsoft may be dropping the price of Xbox to mirror the PS2 price cut to £169.99, then Microsoft announce that, yes, Xbox will drop in price to £159.99.

The cut - down £40 from £199.99 - is the third price drop since Xbox was launched in the UK eight months ago and represents a reduction of almost 50% on its initial retail price of £299.99.

As per the PS2 reduction, the new Xbox price will come into effect from this Friday (30 August).

"The video games industry is more robust than ever this year and new consoles and games are expected to dominate Christmas wish lists," reckons Sandy Duncan, Vice President of Xbox Europe.

"Xbox is extremely well-positioned to be at the top of those lists because it's the best value. The intense power and gaming experiences consumers get with Xbox is simply unsurpassed."

wonder if they offer any of us who brought them for £200 a free game or control pad etc.
You know he grew up as a little shitspark from the old shitflint and then he turned into a shitbonfire and driven by the winds of his monumental ignorance he turned into a raging shitfirestorm. If I get to be married to Barb I'll have total control of Sunnyvale and then I can unleash the shitnami tidal wave that will engulf Ricky and extinguish his shitflames forever. And with any luck he'll drown in the undershit of that wave. Shitwaves.

I think it is great. There are three companies battling it out to be number one for christmas. They are all loosing money on the console, before long they will be giving them away for free or something just to get their boxes in every home...

Eventually they will, but if you buy one now it will be cheap and the same as the boxes we all have. I don't think they have actually produced any of the new ones yet...
