    XBOX FTP Speeds

OK bit of background running dual boot Windows XP and Win98 and only getting 450/500 kps FTP'ing to my XBOX.

FTP in Win98 is fine takes around 5/6 mins to FTP full 700 MB DIVX

WinXP was fine up until 4 days ago when I bought a new mobo / CPU been getting shitty FTP rates since then.

Ive reinstalled XP to another partition (so I can boot into 2 x XP + Win 98) thinking my XP installation was shafted but I'm still getting 450/500 kps on the new installation ???? wtf :o:

Does the XBOX keep any stuff lying around in an ARP cache or anything ? Can anybody shed any light on this because its driving me mad

I too only get around 500k/sec using FlashFXP in WinXP Pro

Sometimes it peaks and I get above 1mb/sec but it's rare. I'm not 100% sure what causes this, but some people have found that differnet FTP software sometimes does the trick.

Check your network card settings (Especially if it's an onboard one). Use EVOX to determine what duplex/speed the XBOX is detecting and make the PC the same. It sounds like the PC is trying to autodetect and will probably be giving some weird ass configuration like 100 half duplex. Do NOT use auto detect. In my experience this is hit and miss. I have seen this happen before with massively degraded speeds. If you are using a crossover cable make sure both the NIC on the PC and the XBOX are set the same.

I have not used XP, but I am sure the config will be in the same place (Where you configure your TCP/IP properties, or in control panel | System | Hardware or similar!)

Yes my NIC as always been set to 100MB FD , some strange shit happening just tried WS_FTP Pro and it copies 700mb in 2.5 mins :rolls: Flash FXP took 25 mins

So it seems like its something to do with Flash FXP and Win XP - explain that one

Ive reinstalled FLash FXP twice as well

So it looks like I'll stick with WS_FTP Pro, there isnt any specific functionality im going to need in Flash FXP that I can think of anyway.

    Thanks for the replies peeps

Hmm weird...Are you using the latest beta of FFXP? That has the debug code still in it which may be causing problems.
