    Floppy problem

I have just got my new pc up and running and loaded on all my basic software .
I have tried to use ghost to clone the system but i cant create a boot disk .
The floppy disks wont format , i get the usual the disk is damaged etc error , but i have tried plenty of disks but non work .
The drive will read and write fine but wont format the floppys, any help appreciated (again) cheers

try another floppy drive cable. if not that then the Floppy drive itself sounds as though it's faulty.

Also try formating the disks on another PC to rule out a bad batch of floppy's

Put some viagra into the drive as stated and the bloody thing took a right strop on and went to her mothers .

But i did buy a new drive and cable replaced them and still the same .
I removed the drive from its mountings , turned off the pc for a while and it worked . I think i was frying the disks between my hard drives , thanx for the help guys , much appreciated , cheers.

IF you have cut the floppy cable it could be a problem, i sugest using a full size normal floppy cable (one you get with your motherboard). cutting the cable and change the resistance in the wire and cause the floppy drive to not function correctly
