Help...!

I have a 3g which fir some reason have managed to click update with and it is now running on 3.1.3 i want to get it back to 3.1.2 so i can re-jail break it. I am on o2 so do not need to have the unlock.

From what i have read i should be able to do this by restoring to 3.1.2 then running redsn0w followed black ra1n but i think i may be mis reading.

Can anyone offer any advice (please Maltloaf.....)

I am trying a custom 3.1.2 firmware from a windows box now then i am going to redsn0w 0.9.2 it, i have no idea if this will work on not as i have upgraded the baseband going to 3.1.3 and i looks like i may loose my signal because i have not added any hashes to the external server....

Or is that only if you have a 3GS...?

So now i have downed to a 3.1.2 custom firmware from

Then used blackra1n because it stopped at installing activation bundles with redsn0w but now i have no signal....

Have gone back to 3.1.3 for now with only a few free apps to keep me busy on the bog....

Will keep an eye open for a fix..

I might have to start masturbating on the pot...

are you relying on blacksn0w or ultrasn0w for the unlock ? if so you're knackered UNLESS you have a really early 3G (with a 5.08 bootloader)

if you just need a jailbreak, I would recommend restoring to a custom ipsw made with the latest pwnage tool (v3.1.5). That will be ready jailbroken and not need ra1ning or sn0wing

I did something pretty similar the other day but I do not require an unlock. So I Sn0wbreeze'd a 3.1.3 FW and all is running perfectly. Pwnage tool is better if you have mac access but I only have windows PC's.

@Malty - was it just the original Sn0wbreeze for 3.1.3 that was buggy? I heard loads of complaints about it, then they released a newer build which I used and I must admit not one bug experienced so far, perfectly jailbroken phone up and working with all my original app data

So i am on 3.1.3 and if i understand you correctly evilsatan i am not shafted, i have both a PC and MAC so which would work better Sn0wbreeze or Pwnage on the MAC...?

Pwnage tool is better mate as Sn0wbreeze is just a port of it (Pwnage tool is the original, most stable, and was created by a better team).

First restore using iTunes to 3.1.3 then follow the guide here:

But if you have a 3G or 3GS you can't unlock

yep you can downgrade the baseband in the very oldest iPhone 3G with fuzzyband, even if you're at the newest bb.

pwnage tool is easily the best imo, they know what they're doing and have been in the game since the very start.

hi got mu m8 3gs and he has updated the firmware to the new 3.1.3 i am trying to use snowbrezze i have down load the frimware for the 3.1 and used snow to custom the firmware but when i restore the firmware in itunes
itunes comes up with not right firmware any ideas why
