ZX Spectrum emulator for iPhone

Came out last night and I had a quick blast on it this morning. Just got home and put a few more roms on and it's great. Very accurate and it's full speed.

It's called iXpectrum and it's on Cydia

Here's some of the readme (which you can get to via ssh)

iXpectrum v1.0 for Jailbroken iPhone & iPod Touch with firmware 3.1.2 by Seleuco (D.Valdeita)

Based in gp2xpectrum v1.8 by Hermes and continued by Metalbrain & Seleuco & SplinterGU.

iXpectrum is a ZX Spectrum emulator for Jailbroken iPhone & iPod Touch with the following features:


- Full speed on iPhone 3G in landscape or portrait mode.
- Portrait-Landscape auto rotation.
- Accurate audio.
- Image smoothing & full screen with aspect ratio options.



Also includes all features from gp2Xpectrum .

INSTALLING
----------

Place your .z80, .sp, .tap, .tzx, .sna and .dsk in /var/mobile/Media/ROMs/iXpectrum/

To copy files to the iphone you can install SSH from Cydia and use a SFTP or SCP client.

I've just been playing manic miner for ages and am off to look for more classic games now

Whats the control like m8? I have hundreds of speccy roms lying around, and of course there's always this place: http://www.worldofspectrum.org/games/index.html

controls are best in portrait, but the spectrum screen is small then.

In landscape, the screen is great however the controls are laid out sort of around the edge which works well but the layout is a little wierd. I'm sure i'll get used to it.

I can't really get used to controls like this on a touch screen my fingers just slide all over the place. Shame this seems a really good emulator.

Skooldaze, wow brings back some memories seeing that in a shop window - I remeber the colour-clash was terrible but what a game, everyone wanted it.
