I have an e-xecutor mod chip.
I'm sure I read somewhere that it was possible to play DVD's without the dongle?
If yes, how?!
If I do have to buy the remote / dongle kit, how do I make it region free?
Cheers

Use DVDX2. You don't need the dongle or remote. Control is via the controller (strangely enough ;o)
I replied to this the other day, but he forum seems to have gone back a few days after being down...
I have the DVDX 2 program, but cant seem to burn it. It says on the nfo to use CDRW. I managed to burn one the other day, but its not recognised.
What settings do I need to do in Nero to burn an ISO to CDRW?
Also... someones reply said to not use CDRW, but to put it onto the Xbox HDD. How do I do that without burning the disk?
Can I burn it onto a DVD-RW instead, since I can do these fine in Primo DVD 2.0 - It just doesnt seem to read my CDRWs
Cheers

btw, I use compusa CDRW media, worked fine.
dunno if you're in the states or not, if so, try one out. those seem to be pretty compatible.
good luck.
I had a lot of trouble with cdrw media when burnign small programs, id have to keep inserting the discs, but with the same media if i burnt lets say a 500 meg image id be fine... hmmm kinda liek the dc dummy file days of da.exe
I'm away to try it on my Mac at work instead to see if thats any better.
If I do want to fill the disk up with dummys, is there a certain directory or somthing that I can put them so that the xbox wont get confused by them?!
Ended up putting it on a DVD-RW just to test.
My mod is the x-ecuter - which supports the eject trick.
What is the eject trick?!?!?!
How do I get the DVDX disk out without re-booting the machine?!
Thanks again
try hitting the eject button and seeing.Originally posted by @tack

you should be able to eject w/out the machine resetting.
that's what they call the eject trick.
good luck.
PS. don't be afraid to try out some stuff on your own initiative if you haven't already. Sometimes the best way of learning is to learn by trial and error instead of relying on others.
Not a complaint, but your questions are easily answered by a few minutes of your own time trying out stuff.
Whirlwind.
When I press eject, the machine resets, and takes me back to the Memory / Music / Settings screen.
I have read in numerous places that the x-ecuter supports the eject trick.
Not having a good day

Forget that! I tried putting it on a multi disk... which obviously didn't support the eject function.
I now have it on a DVD-RW on its own and it boots and ejects fine.
I put in my DVD original film, and it does nothing.
How do I get it to start playing?
Questions... questions... questions...!!!
Can anyone tell me how to fix this?!
I put the DVD movie in after DVDX boots, and it just stays on the DVDX screen, no matter what buttons I press!
I really want to watch Blade 2 tonight!
Help please!!
