Default New to this game! Advice please

    Hi y'all

I'm after getting an xbox instead of my gc but no nothing about the chips.

Whats the difference & which one should I get. I don't want to be ripped off either. What kinda price should i expect to pay.

    Many thanks

    Taz

if you havent got the box already m8 then i suggest you buy a pre chipped one, this will save you the hassle of chipping it yourself, you will just be able to take it out the box and be away.

now the xbox has gone down in price so have the price of the chipped boxes, so i suggest you go to this site, they sell pre chipped ones for 195 and are very reliable and will certainly not rip you off as they have a very good reputation on this forum along with a lot of others..

ok. just had a quick look. Sounds good.

I've been offered a enigmah one for 190 + pnp.

Is the chip in this voc one better?? (i know nothing)

Will either of them make the dvd multiregion or do i have to buy other things for that

    Thx :-)

no m8 this one is better than enigmah, and im sure the multiregion dvd thing is just a software thing you burn to a disc and use it that way, i dont use my xbox for dvd so dont really look at that stuff.

If you want to play multiregion dvd's for free (no need for any remote control) you really have to go for the evox mod (the one from voc) because with that one you can eject the disc without the xbox restarting therefore put in the dvdx2 (its a free download on the web which can be put on cd/dvd) which works as a boot disc for dvd films.

So go for the voc one and get the dvdx2 disc to make your xbox play multiregion dvds for free

If you buy the enigmah, you will need to buy and dvd remote control, then to make it multiregion use a dvdx1 disc(only needs to be put in once)

well no, thats not true, But if you have if you have a older mod (I have a xtender 1.1) you have to run dvdx2 from the HD. But if you have a evox bios then you can run dvdx2 from the cd(which is alot easier)

Surely putting dvdx on your hdd would be easier?

A n00b might not want to muck around with evox to get dvdx2 on the HD. As with new mods or very old betas they had the eject trick which means you dont need to muck around with the xbox HD just to get dvdx2 to run

wwell yes to be honest id prefer it rather than having to put in a cd each time i wanted to play a dvd movie, but each to his own and whatever works for you and all that and as dickie says he might not want to anyway, but at least now he knows the options which is what he wanted anyway.

True I hated using the boot disc when I wanted to play a game on the good old dc.
