    Default A scouser

A scouser walked into the local job centre, marched straight up to the counter and said "Hi, I'm lookin' for a job".

The man behind the counter replied "Your timing is amazing.

We've just got a listing from a very wealthy man who wants a
chauffeur/bodyguard for his nympho daughter. You'll have to drive around in a big black mercedes, uniform provided. Because of the long hours of this job, meals will also be provided and you will also be required to escort the young lady on her overseas holidays.

The salary package is £200,000 a year".

The scouser said "You're bullsh**ting me!"

The man behind the counter said "Well you fu*kin' started it!"

Damn, I know I am going to get it for this. Despite the fact that I have spent more than a year in England during various visits, I have no idea what a scouser is.

    Someone please enlighten me.

someone from liverpool, but it is often used as a way of putting liverpudlians down or used to describe a stereotype of someone from liverpool, it isnt a true stereotype, but fortunatly scousers are also renowned for having a good sence of humor

Ahh got it. I thought it would have been a racially motivated word, like most of our negative terms are. I cant think of many slurrs for people which live in other parts of the US although there are plenty of stereotypes.

People from California are all laid back surfers.
People from Chicago are gangsters and teamsters.
People from Texas all cary a gun.
People from New York would rather step on you when your down than take the time to walk around you (even post 9/11).

In any case, we have lots of negative stereotypes, but I cant think of any actual derogative terms. Maybe its because all these people live so far from each other that they hardly ever meet. Id imagine people from Liverpool mannage to get around the rest of the country often enough to warrant the name.

Guess that makes the Beatles a bunch of Scousers eh?

Scouser isn't really derogatory as such, I would describe myself as one.

In case you are interested, scouse is a sort-of stew heavy on potato and meat.

It was all going so well until Hatton and his militant Labour council messed it up for us all. Sacking every teacher in Liverpool as a protest against lack of Government funding wasn't the best idea they had. Harry Enfield has a lot to answer for as well; funny as fcuk though!
