Default Wanting to upgrade my PC

I would like to know if upgrading my PC would just be a case of taking the old stuff out and plugging the new stuff in without having to format the hard drives, etc

    At the moment I have:

    Motherboard: Soyo V6BE
Processor: Intel 500 MHz Pentium III with 512k ECC L2 cache
    Graphics Card: GeForce 2 MX200 32MB
    Memory: 640MB SDRAM (1x 128MB and 2x 256MB)

and I want to upgrade to:

    Motherboard: Asus P4B533-E Audio/Lan/Raid
    Processor: Intel Pentium IV 2.4GHz 478Pin 533MHz 0.13u Retail
    Graphics Card: Inno3D GeForce4 Ti4200 128Mb DDR DVI TV-Out AGP
    Memory: 256MB DDR PC2100 RAM

Also I would like peoples thoughts on what type of Cooling/Heatsinks/Fans I should get.

    Thanks

You would almost certainly have trouble with device drivers for the motherboard chips if you didn't reformat andd reinstall Windows

I wouldn't even consider it without reformatting and reinstalling the OS. Saves a heap of hassle later, plus you then have a clean install, which is always nice

Thanks for the help, I'll probably backup the most inportant stuff to my 2nd hard drive and then format my main one.
