NTL's 512kbps move to 600kbps for FREE

Well.... most people wont notice a difference becauyse they get over 600k anyways but not everyone does so they are the ones really who get the upgrade

check out the ntlworld service page, it has been implemented in a load of areas including my mothers but i tested it today and there is 0% increase in download speed. However net surfing is a little faster.

What service page would that be? Have you got a link?
Or was it the last one you posted? That only gave me a 1MB service option.

Most people have 600kbps or get more than 512kbps. Really its a NTL marketing trick n yeah there is little if not any imporivement because the network could always go past 512 anyways

I tried download from some newsgroups last last but the max speed the ntl news servers would give me was 70KBps. This should be 75 with the new upgrade to 600Kbps. But it aint.

Something to do with download speed restrictions on the newsgroup servers their end? I've yet to fully test my connection for the 600Kbit upgrade.
