    PS3 Essential Games?

so, as I'm new to the world of PS3.. a little late I know but I'm happy

what are the essential games I must own for my new toy?..
I am of course already aware of the mighty COD4.. but what are the MUST haves?..

I'm in the same boat, i could get one for free with my new mobile contract and wanted to know the best exclusives on the machine as I've already got a 360.

Uncharted 1 was awesome and no.2 is meant to be even better, but other than that i can't think of enough to justify getting one... heavy rain is meant to be good isnt it although I'm not sure what type of game it is.... and i've heard decent things about MAG?

my absolute favourite so far has been resistance 2 as I went into it having not played 1. It was a good solid 20+ hours of imaginative single player and it can be picked up for an absolute steal.

    for PS3 exclusives I second the opinion on Uncharted 1 & 2.

Buzz is also a fantastic party game, in my opinion go for the new Buzz Quiz World, I have both Buzz Quiz TV and Quiz World anf=d Quiz World is better in my opinion, but both are good!

COD MW2 is fantastic as is COD4 aka COD MW1.

I have had the demo for GOW3 for about 6 months now, and that also looks like a great game to be released very very soon.

I loved the Heavy Rain demo, give it a try for free on PSN store to see if you like it.

Killzone 2 has a fantastic single player, wasnt a fan of the multiplayer (prefer the COD series).

I had pacific rift in my console bundle a year ago and enjoyed it altough got bored of it fairly quickly and ended up selling it. I agree it's well worth a look if you can find it cheap though

I'd also vote for Uncharted/Uncharted. Playing through them at the moment and they are bloody amazing!
Also surprised Fifa 10 hasn't had a mention.
Another one I've enjoyed is Burnout Paradise.

probably coz they are both available on every format going... I think the OP was wanting to know whats good on the system that you can't get on the others.

just been looking at this. It's £14 on psn (or thereabouts) and £18 with the expansion pack.

The disc version is £17 but I can't work out if that includes the expansion or not...

Yeah the disc version has the expansion too, although I bought the 2 psn releases as they launched.

Also, the expansion pretty much doubles the content, so its really worth paying the little extra.
