    Default Insuring a Euopean Import

It looks like I will be getting a European Peugeot import, will I have problems insuring it like a non EU car. I got a couple of quotes online and the form didnt ask me if it was an import or not. Does anyone have a European Import and how have you got on with insuring it

    cheers

    Alright mate?

I bought a Megane earlier in the year, it's an import from Holland.

I'm insured with Direct Line, they don't give a toss whether it's an import.

Costing me £850 a year - not bad considering the Punto I got rid off was costing me £1500 (HGT Abarth)

Other than that no probs, has been into the dealer and they did everything for free under the one year euro warranty, I just had to register my details with them as it wasn't on the system in the Uk.

Took about five minutes in the dealer.

Doubt I'd buy a genuine UK car again unless the prices really start to level out across the EU

@ bub > Adrian S Flux is the best company to deal with for anything other than normal cars.

@aidanjpadden > Abarth huh? I reckon the f*ckers should have their asses booted for using that scorpion badge these days. Carlo Abarth would would be disgusted to see his name splattered all over every "Sporty" FIAT in production today. Abarth coachworks closed it's doors in the 70's and the name was bought by FIAT, but thats all, the last TRUE Abarth was the 131 Abarth, even the Strada 130 was dubious. He built an X\19 with a supercharged 2Ltr twin cam but it never saw the light of day. It's sad to see what WAS a private company name that rubbed shoulders with the giants of the day, be commercialised and mass produced by FIAT, who are using his name to gain sales when there has been NOTHING Abarth for more than 20 years.

hybrid, the car was well disappointing, basically it was exactly the same as the hgt but with a lighter bodykit & nicer interior.

**** so I got rid after six months.

they reckon fiat might have actually done something with the stilo abarth but that was shite, the stilo is horrible to drive, sort of like being in a boat and the seats are shite!

I reckon a good rule of thumb is that the Italians have style, the Americans have too much, the British Innovate badly, the Germans Engineer and the french make wine. Why oh why can't they get together and build something beautiful that will last long enough to enjoy? Oh! yeah! I know...........Cos it won't generate enough revenue for them.
