I have some old stock certificates which have been inherited but are still in the name of the deceased. They aren't worth a great deal but I am trying to have them transferred into my name.
One certificate is for National Savings Government 3.5% Conversion Stock.
The other is for 3.5% War Stock.
The conversion stock is administered by Computershare (as far as I can tell) so I went to their site but I cannot contact them via email as I do not have the reference number they require. I will be calling them to see what I can find out.
As for the War Stock I do not know who administrates it, does anyone have any idea? I have checked the Treasury site and Direct.gov but no info was found.
I shall be researching what these stock certificates are actually for and if they are worth keeping as an investment and a kind of family airloom or to cash them in and invest elsewhere. Has anyone come across these before?
Cheers
