    welcome to 10 months ago.

but can't blame you though. minidisc is not very popular in america. anyway, its not mp3. sony calls it atrac3. the recorder converts the mp3 into atrac3 and records it onto the minidisc.

the ah, 110 hours playback refers to battery life not how much you can put on a disc.

this is not news, really, just a new model.

ATRAC3 is a pretty nice format though....some new in-dash car receivers use it to "rip" discs to store to a hard drive for later playback (believe there's a high-end pioneer model that has this)

NetMD's are just the same as there other ones. I own one They can hold about 4 cds of songs on them. Pretty good, never skip, battery lasts for fucken ages as well, mines kinda fucked tho, dropped it on the floor a few times, still works tho. I donno why they didnt take off, I use it everywhere and ill probley get a unit for my car.

why didn't it take off? because sony decided to go with a hard-line stance on licensing it, just like the BetaMax
