get a windows me bootdisk or windows 98 bootdisk. I prefer windows 98 bootdisk as when you format you can use the commands /u /q /s without windows me sayings its no longer supported.

So get your bootdisk, stick it in and turn pc on. when a menu appears, choose: 'start computer with cdrom support' and press enter. Then let it do its job and when you reach the A:\ Prompt type (without thequote marks): 'format c: /u /s'

The format command is stating the obvious, but the /u command means UNCONDITIONAL format. This is mainly used when a re-partition has happened but i feel its much better on a normal format. the /s command means copy system files to hdd only

then after 100% complete.... type: X:\setup.exe where X is cdrom drive letter. hope it helps and isnt too complex
