V+ Formatting hard drive - error

The HD got full from recording series, and I could not access any of the V+ functions, so I followed the reformat guide, and I keep getting rFt and then stop, I have tried over and over again but no luck at all, the HD sounds healthy, is there any other way I can get this HD initilized again on my STB. surely there must be another way I can format the HD to get it working back in my STB, thanks for reading, and p.s yes its modded
