We got stuff going missing at work and suspect out new cleaner!

It's only small things such as a tap and die set, expensive looking pens, pliers, brand new mouse in box, other stuff!

Also drawers and cupboards are being rummaged through! (we done the old taping a hair on the side of stuff so when its opened the hair breaks ) also i found that a really old tandem laptop bag besides my desk has been rummaged throught and left open!

I wouldnt mind too much but the pliers are mine and i use them every ****ing day!

Anyway we had a plan of setting up my laptop and web cam in a locked cage at work so u can't see the camera! Only thing is i aint got that big HD to record loadsa video so was wondering if any of u can suggest any software to use to capture pictures preferably when summat moves on the picture?!?!? or would it need a motion detector!?! alternatively software to take a picture every n seconds would probably do!

cheers lads!!! i want my ****ing pliers back

try a small video camera (about £130 from bowlers) you can conceal it almost anywhere and it transmits by radio to a reciever, put a videorecorder in a locked room, set it to timer record for when the cleaners are in and give the tiny camera a good view of what you want to check on, if you own the business its perfectly legal to spy on your employees (and strangely enough its also legal for a landlord to conceal cameras in private rented accomodation, even in the bathroom but thats another story)

i think this may work or may not ( u may need a logitech cam) but d/l there latest softwere and is a movment destor on it or if u can get the laptop hooked to the web make it send files every 20 secs(or woteva) to an ftp

if u got the cash do wot abc says or

hide in the cabanet all nite and watch and get a camcorder and stay record when eva sum 1 enters the room

(17:18:34) (+Cam) i need to mount my xbox hdd in linux
(17:19:02) (+SpikeWork) youth of today, they'll mount anything

even considered hiding in the cage wiv me mate but we'd end up laughing and shit!

We got a small camera which just plugs into the scart on a video but no-ones got a video which they can be arsed to bring in!! besides that he comes in at different times each day so would need a fukking long tape as it could be late night or early morning!!

    motion detection would be best!!!

At the minute i got a big sign in my drawer saying "Get out of my drawer you thieving bastard! I want my ****ING pliers back!!"

    lol

loadsa people upstairs have had shit gone thru to! the laptop and web cam would be good coz it can be moved around the building + thrown in a filing cabinet or wherever and left to do its job!

ok add a elp video recorder (extended long play) cost around £100 and then you have a set up that can be moved room to room and brought out whenever you hire new staff, its advantage is it records 12 hours onto a single e240 vhs tape.

total cost is £230 but how much stuff have you already lost? and how much more will go missing untill you catch the culprit, remember you are also paying the theives wages so dont forget to factor that into your costs (oh and its a tax deductable expense too )

your cheapest option would be a webcam if you have a p.c. in the room, then we can all watch the thieving tw@ts.

got isdn at work but i dont't think they will like me transmitting the webcam over it!

my mate has had a word with the bird upstairs who hired the theiving bastid and shes having a word wiv his boss!!

the old cleaners were as bad they kept nicking my terminal drivers to tighten their glasses!! bastids! was an older bird who always bought her kids in wiv her!

The new cleaner is about mid 20's and also brings most of his family in wiv him when no-one is about! little kids throw all their mcdonalds rubbish out in the car park when there is a fucking great big grundon bin in it!

the best cleaner was the old bloke! must of been about 75 but at least he mopped the floor! all of them since either sweep it or hoover it!! IT'S A TILED FLOOR! MOP THE FUCKING THING!!

    bloody cleaners!!

Apparently the people at work dont like the idea of my hidden camera tho may do it anyway!

mooching at some software at the mo! see which works best!
