I live in Toronto and plan on buying one.
Apparently the signal is strong enough here to decode.
It's a shame xm can't broadcast into Canada because it would be wonderful in the territories where the cities are far apart.
Anyways... lucky me i'm gonna go buy a receiver.
anyone know if they have hacked sirus radio? that the one I happen to have in my cd deck.. never thought i'd actually use it though since i would have to pay
Gay Geocities....damn limit exceeded.
How come the link doesn't work? Lemme try.

Someone want to get the details and post it here (or somewhere else?) -- Very interested in XM radio, but dont want to subscribe just to see if its good...
I found this and it is the site in PDF format.

Me fail English? That's unpossible!
Man, is it just me or does anybody else have trouble understanding this thing?
At first glance, it looks like he wants us to unsolder a TSOP and put it in a DishNetwork box, then hit "J"??? Huh???
It's almost as if every other word, sentence, page and paragraph have been removed from this thing.
Maybe it's not bogus, but I'd prefer an explanation of how the hack works. At the end, he seems to imply that you can make the XM radio work "forever" by simply eliminating the ability to program the flash.
It seems to me he's using the jtag to clone the radio so you can activate other receivers and then stop it from receiving any more writes from xm so after you cancel they can't wipe your radio.
I don't know if it works but it seems to be a good theory.
Hopefully someone will start offering "pre-modded" xm recievers on the net with this info...
that pdf file made no sense, i know a little about this but it seems that he just posted pictures without direct steps on what to do
i would love to hack my XM if i only had a nice tutorial and with google, thats the only one i find......anyone have a better one?
The PDF doesn't have everything the website has.
Just if you can't connect to the website you can look at that.
do you guys think xm is available in asia?
come on people, you dont need to steal XM radio. They aren't a multibillion dollar company. They will not start making a profit until 2004 and only have enough money to operate until sometime next year. It's only $10 fucking dollars a month. I've had mine for 9 months now, and it's worth every cent! They need everyone's business right now to keep the company running.
$10/month to support CD-quality, uncensored music-- or you could listen to your highly commercial local radio stations that only play the music that the record companies tell them to play.
i'm too lazy to answer that, but I will provide a link
http://www.xmradio.com/
i already went there before i posted but i no understand

wow they let you listen to the radio all day long. thanks for the link. unsigned channel is the best.!
direcTV & Pioneer both got a hand in XM, its got plenty of money.
you can't modify your existing radio.
it's like dss or directTV or whatever satellite tv for your tv. Only this is for the radio. The same radio stations anywhere in the US of A (dunno about canada?) Supposed to be CD-quality. Great if you live in the boonies I'm sure. I dunno how helpful something like this could be for someone in nyc or chicago or something.
