Lewis Hamilton believes his new team-mate Jenson Button has given McLaren a boost, and says he is working well with his countryman.
The 25-year-old was speaking after completing the second day of the Barcelona test this afternoon. His time of 1m22.152s was eighth fastest in today's results, compared to Button's 1m23.452s effort yesterday, which was enough to put him fifth.
Despite fears of tension between the two world champions, Hamilton says their relationship has been open so far.
"We haven't seen him too much over the last few days, but we get on really well," said the 2008 champion.
"Jenson is very open about his feeling and vice versa. I'm really enjoying working with him and I think he's a great influence on the team. He's really very, very competitive and a well-rounded guy."
Button will drive the McLaren MP4-25 at Barcelona tomorrow before Hamilton takes over again for the final day of pre-season testing on Sunday.
