Reduce your RAM to a single stick and test. After a lot of trial and error battling a very similar problem myself, I found out that removing one of my two 256MB DDR sticks cured my system's instability. Basically, my computer would randomly reboot whenever it was put under stress, like when running a game. I don't know if my motherboard is shitty or what, because both RAM sticks work, I just can't use them together... and they're a matching pair too.

I think sometimes it can be due to different brands of RAM put together that might cause errors due to latency differences, and in my case, all I can figure is there's something weird about the motherboard, or maybe too much heat is generated in the area.

Some motherboards don't recommend using certain memory modules and using more then one module at certain speeds. For example, most motherboards don't recommend using 2/3 PC2700 memory chips running at CAS2. Also some memory brands aren't as reliable as others and aren't recommended for use with certain motherboards. This isn't so common with slower memory, especially with PC133 SDRAM but it still might be the problem. What brand is your memory?
