    Default IBM Deskstar, 120gb, £86.56

Check it out on www.itbutikken.dk - it looks a reputable site to me, i don't know if anyones used these before, but i think im about to go for it!

For some reason this is in the seagate section, and not the IBM one, its just recently been reduced by £20, and is a lot cheaper than what komplett and ebuyer are offering.

Oh yeah, only that price if you order by switch or solo, otherwise theres some charge.

    Regards,

    byb

BFG it's a .dk site meaning denmark rather than .tk.

Presumably that means the stuff comes via airmail.surface mail? Would any customs charges be applicable?

    DeathStars ARE SHIT!!

I wouldn't buy a IBM DEATHstar if you paid ME!! They are VERY noisy and extremly UN-reliable, hence the name DEATH star!lol

I agree with several of the posters in this thread, I am a fan of IBM drives and have had some very reliable ones, the 75GXP (and in some cases the 60GXP) were NOT good, but they seem to be sorted

btw I agree that maxtors are also very good, just don't buy a fujitsu

I've had 3 gxp75s and 2 gxp60s die on me in a year but i still buy them They are so fast especially in raid and ibm rma service seems ok except the £7 it costs to send them back to Holland, but if you kick off you usually get a bigger drive sent back

I have had trouble with one of my 80 gig Deskstars. Its ok when you use it as a storage drive, I had missing system file error on the drive everytime I installed Wi*dows.

Never going to buy IBM again, oh yeah, check the drive ID when booting up, if it starts with IBM then it is a good one, if it starts with ICL its a dud.
