Internal Conexant accessrunner dsl modem strange problem

I have an internal conexant accessrunner DSL modem which works great BUT only on the first install, if you power down the PC and then on again it wont pickup the line unless you uninstall and then reinstall it, not a major problem as I tend to leave it on nowadays but it would be nice to sort it.
I've had a look round the net and some other people have experienced this and they solved it by moving it to a different slot so that it was given a different IRQ no. I've tried this and it has made no difference, it now has its own IRQ and is not shared with anything else.

Try changing your BIOS setting for Plug and Play aware OS to No.
I've seen plenty of hardware that experiences problems like this.

Thanx for the reply, I'll keep that in mind for future ref.
It must have been something to do with XP pro, since I've put the service pack on it works now, Very strange, but I'm not complaining
