Sound Problem

OK guys this is my problem:
Any sound/tune that happens when on the net wont play, just the first sound is repeated rapidly and wont stop until the computer is switched off. If I try to play a song that is downloading via winmx the same happens. When the tune has finished downloading it will play fine. Winamp is my main music player.
Any body got any ideas.

Does it still loop when winamp is closed?

Not if its a downloading track thats playing. It will stop looping then, but if its a sound off the internet it will keep looping even if its a button press sound like a beep or something.
