Default I'm locked out of my laptop PLEASE help

OK i need help urgently. I just completely fucked up my laptop which is running on Win 2k and now I can't get into it. I was messing arround with permissions and now have completely screwed it up. It won't accept the administrator username and password, and so I can't get into the laptop. Is there any way of me accessing the files? I have got EVERYTHING on this laptop and so there's no chance of me wiping it and re-installing everything. The laptop is a Compak Armada model U98 P3 356 RAM About a year old. I would greatly appreciate any help what so ever.

    Thanks

    Vishal

Don't get me wrong I'm gratefull for the link but there's very little information on the site. I've downloaded the the boot disk and the DOS Program to write the image and I have copied the files on the image to the disk to make the boot disk. What do I do now? Where are the sam files located? Why is it harder if it is NTFS and how do I locate and delete the same files in both cases (NTFS OR FAT32)? The disk I have created is it just a boot disk or does it also delete the sam files? Thank you VERY MUCH for your help i thought i was screwed.

Willl this boot disc work with Win2k? Where are the sam files located in win2k? Is this the best book disc to use for Win2k?

    Thanks

    Vish,
See my reply over at Membersboard
Understeer is when you hit a wall with the front of your car
Oversteer is when you hit the wall with the back of your car
Horsepower is how fast your car hits the wall
Torque is how far your car sends the wall across the field once you've hit it

P.T. - can't see what you put as I don't know the password for membersboard, but vish, yes the disk does work with w2k.

i haven't used it for over two years but last time i saw it it automatically went to the \winnt\system32\config folder when the SAM is stored..

the disk mounts the ntfs drive using a linux filesystem driver and this ignores the acl's so to be honest it shouldn't be any harder working with an ntfs drive than working with a fat drive..
