netsystems does look ok, satnode were good, xantic are good, ipviasat are good but the d/l limit sucks. Personally I would go for the satdrive one, looks good and you get up to 4Mb depending on how busy it is. (expensive to set up though)

i have been using europeonline for the past 9 months .
5x2mbps streams = 10Mbps ( on a good day) , tho usually it varies from anything between 2-6 Mbps wich is extremely fast .
unfortunately after 15th october there system is gonna change and instead of *unlimited* usage they will be puttin restrictions on how much u can download ( additional storage can be bought ) ... hopefully there will be a way around this

    Wizer,

I used to have broadband with Pipex and have since moved and can no longer get it. I am looking for a Satellite solution, one way is fine as I only want to download.
Could you give me your reasons why you think satdrive is better. This info will help me make an informed choice. Sat Broadband is a new area for me,

    thanks

well its cheaper per month for a start. and if you're resourcefull you could get the install for just £150 (by obtaining the PCI card, dish, etc yourself)

You can get an anytime 56k for 13.99 from one.tel or any other ISP

Tho I'm not expert on the matter

if anyone has any feedback on any of internet sat services please reply to this thread. Ive had a browse throught the satdrive site, its very expenisve though to set it up unless you get the pci card and dish urself. Can you just use a pci satellite card like the hauppage wintv one? as ive already got about 3 of these somewhere hehe?? Ive seen a few on ebay also for about £50, they want £350 for them!

also if anyone is thinking of signing upto satdrive cos i can hold of dishes and cards if u can use the cards i was on about. Then if a few of us chip in for one copy of the software then we can do copies for each of us and save us all some money maybe? The software is dead expensive at £150 so it could save u all some money, let me know what you think?

u wont be able to share the software.. they wont sign u up unless u buy the software. In other words its £150 minimum sign up fee

I dont think u can use them haupage cards

You can pick the PCI card up on ebay for around £60

I'm thinking about signing up.. but there's a shred of possibility that I can get ADSL... fingers crossed!

I read the Satdrive site and it scared the shit out of me, The way i understood it was you gotta pay £450 for the kit (If you buy it off them) then £14.99/month for the sat connection. About £14/month for the Dialup connection and if you download more than 60mb worth of data you then pay minimum 3p/megabyte off peak at the slowest rate. So even if you did find somewhere that you could download a 700mb Avi file it would then cost you an extra £21 to download it.

I am probably wrong but thats the way i understood it.

I'm using Netsystem at the moment. I have to say it's CRAP. Been on with it now for a week and typical downloading speeds from imesh or kazaa is about 1KB/s. Faster on my 56K Modem!
They are cheap to set up with, (36 euros for card and first 2 months - £24) and I got a new dish all fitted for £30 but it is total crap.
Anyone else use Netsystem? What are you getting?

the new sat company is everywherebroadband, there are three fairly good packages at the moment to consider. All have there pros and cons, firstly they are all only one way, although isonetric do offer a two way solution if needed.

I am so far impressed with silvermead and seen as I can't get adsl due to living in the sticks will more than choose these when they launch. They are currently putting there fair use policy together and hope to have it published in the next few days.
