Default Modern Warfare 2 DLC gets pricey

Not your average downloadable content - Activision is charging a premium for the upcoming Modern Warfare 2 Stimulus Package, taking advantage of a rabid fan base to ask for more than the usual DLC rate.

A surprising 1200 Microsoft Points (approximately 15 USD) is the price tag on the first DLC, which is a good 50% higher than the standard 800 points set for DLC in other games such as BioShock 2 and Halo 3.
When referencing the price in American dollars, each of the download's five maps 5 maps - a trio of new ones complemented by a pair of remakes - ring up at 3 USD apiece.
Will that stop fans from downloading? Of course not. When March 30 hits and the Stimulus Package is available on Xbox Live and PlayStation Network, expect huge sales.

    LOL.

They better sort out the glitching before they start trying to rape the dlc price.

Yep not been on MW2 for a couple of weeks for that very reason the spawn camping by the snipers is annoying as hell in BC2 but far less annoying that the glitching on MW2.

altho i'd love to resist i'll still buy em on the release date..

for the amount i play it $3 per map (or equivalent) is peanuts anyway, be nice to have crash back as that was a top map, not to fussed about overgrown tho.

pretty annoyed at the price as i felt you got much more for your 800 points last year with the additional zombie maps which i played to death, will still be buying though, just discovered hardcore and it has reignited my interest in the game, im sure the new maps will help to refresh it also.

i've got far too much to be playing at the mo so prob won't bother for now. We'll see at a later date though... as I have a good stock of points from the littlewoods deal and perfect darks on xbla tomorrow to add to the list of games to play, mw2 won't be getting touched anytime soon

although it's a bit more than usual, i'll probably get it. considering the amount of time i play on it, it's value for money really

Considering the amount of play time you'll get out of each map the price point isn't that bad.

i think thats probably what they are bargaining on. All you yids that are saying its too expensive, ffs, how many games do you probably grab for fuck all? If you like the game, and you play it then get them, if you don't play or don't want them, then just hush and don't buy em!! Major Nelsons site is full of these people turning every fucking post into "don't buy mw2 dlc" but i bet it'll be the fastest selling dlc ever!

its a lot of money to pay for remade maps though. I hate the idea of dlc that is just rehashed. Its a rip off.

3 new maps for 15 dollars is 5 dollars a map (the other 2 dont count as I already own them elsewhere) which is insane considering i only paid £25 for the entire game.

do we know which "rehashed" maps they are? 3 new ones and two old ones is it?

Bought the game as part of Amazon deal and turned out they paid me around a pound due to price change refund stuff. So can't really say I'll mind paying for this, if it's 15 quid then it'll mean I've spent 14 quid on the game plus DLC in total

Edit: Actually just realised we're talking dollars for the DLC, so probs around 9 pounds total spent.

A bargin IMO.. But I agree with the commentrs about glitchers... perhaps they should invest development time on patching the glitches and kicking out the boosters, rather than progressing the DLC gravy train!

Save your cash. Trade in Modern Warfare + the cost of the DLC for BFBC2.
For those who haven't played it, it's sooooooo much better than BFBC and is a definite contender for the MW2 crown IMO

I agree BFBC2 is a very good game but I cant quite warm to it over COD atm.

Think I need to have a few bigger sessions to really get hooked.

    same here.

BFBC2 is decent, but spawn killing is a problem and there's not many game modes is there?
