BBC to start 'Freeview' on Oct 30.
Well the BBC has annouced they will start their 'Freeview' package on Oct 30th, which will bring 30 new channels to us with a digital box. Oh how I can hardly wait. (sigh) It really is going to be pants..

If there a definitive list of channels yet? (There are 2 'entertainment' channels TBA..?)
There is nothing at the freeview site. ( http://www.freeview.co.uk/ )

Why the frek is E4 not there?! And who cares about radio stations, EVERYONE can get the radio, or pick up DAB if you want better quality. Christ.

btw radio through digi-tv IS DAB quality - what about those people who don't want to shell out £150 or however much it is for one!

It's better than a poke in the eye with a shitty stick, but it would have been nice to get afew more new channels like Cartoon Network (hey I'm a big kid)
E4 is unlikely as it's a big money spinner for Sky and Channel4.
Are there still more to be confirmed as I only count 26 channels in that list (not including Radio)

It's free for christs sake, we ain't being asked to pay for it, I'm glad of any new channels. I feel sorry for the license payers who don't have a digi box or idtv cos they are funding the BBC's digital venture and seeing none of the benefits. If you ain't happy you can always subscribe to $ky.

Its good its moving forward, but the line-up is not a good one. Seriously whos going to pay to advertise on Sky Travel?! I just cannot see how these channels are going to make money, and hence make the service better.
