Over recent months customers of the cable broadband and TV provider Virgin Media have been facing some tough times with the service being down and in some cases these issues have lasted for several days at a time.

However, customers in the Leeds 11 area have found that for the third time in less than two weeks the service is offline and they have started a call for compensation.

The latest event occurred following the theft of fibre optic cables.

It is believed that the idiot thieves thought that all cables were made from valuable copper.

Twitter has been flowing with calls for compensation, but according to Virgin Media, it is as much as a victim in this as anyone else and as such will not be offering blanket compensation to its customers.
