2010 is without a doubt going to the year of 3D and it could be a confusing time for the consumer as technology is not as simple as it used to be, like getting a TV and plugging it in.
There are around four different formats of 3D TV, one does not require those large dark glasses, while the others require different types of glasses, so it is easy to see where consumers could get confused.
The problem is that a lot of these glasses are not cheap either.
Some can cost as much as £50 a pair, so getting the right choice is essential.
There is light at the end of the tunnel from XpanD which has developed a universal pair of 3D glasses.
Unfortunately these will not be available until the summer, when the price will be announced.
