Bear in mind that if you're after a quick buck like some used to be all MOT' tests record the mileage of the car now days. You'd need d ifferent equipment depending on the manufacturer you wanted to specialise in...

You could get Tacho Pro 2008, but without support it is a nightmare to figure out how to use it properly. Do you have any electronics experience?

yep they do and the first place to start isnt a tachopro your wasting your time its good for old specialty stuff if you know how to use it. trust me you wont it will as said end in tears.
if your just starting out get a old factory yanhua 4.88 digiprog dont buy the 4.94 its unstable by a digiprog 4.88 with soic clips not adapter board and that will give you ability todo 200 plus cars fairly easily with decent manuals
for about 350.00 then ad a r270 for doing bmw cas stuff and then add a tachopro and get yourself software on this list all available on forumns tachosoft 23.1 iprog and etsmart with volvaka calcs on cartechnology and etool to transfer files from digiprog to pc so you can use calc software todo cars not in digiprog lists with digiprog then you can move up to a real tool like enigma usaprog diagprog data specialist plus and such digimaster is ok but i call it junk as tachopro the tachopro tool sux unless you have info on using it which is tough to find
and you will give up in ten minutes if your buy that tool start with yanhua digiprog 3 and move on from there STUDY DATASHEETS for MCU PROCESSORS 9s12 hc05 hc11 and such GOOGLE and thanks if it helps is always nice :>
