Take it thats a no then? Wanted it confirmed by an owner really but seems they missed something a lot of people driving cars want and have in the majority of lesser specced phones.

not tested it because im still waiting for my desire, heres a snippet from the forum
hope this helpsHere it is, tried and tested.
1. goto settings
2. goto text to speech and install voice data
3. goto link to warez site removed on your desire ...try this link http://www.megaupload.com/?d=UQC37DJC
4. on the home page search for Verizon 2.1 keyboard with voice input by clicking on v and scrolling to it
5. download it
6. install it (you may get a prompt saying that you need to change your settings to allow it to install, so do so)
7. next in settings again goto language & keyboard
8. tick android keyboard
9. click android keyboard settings
10. make sure voice input is ticked.
11. go into messages and hold down on TAP TO COMPOSE
12. select input method
13. then select android keyboard
14. click the mic and start talking

I have the N1 and the voice search/dialling is very good, but I am not sure if it will recognise your northern accent

Have this installed on my Desire and it basically types anything using your voice. (Including sms, google search, etc).
Works really well and aparently it will be included with the next OS upgrade.
Great for those who don't like touch screen typing.
just installed this using this guide and its working perfect.
used the method you linked to works fine, some of the words it comes up with are a bit comical
I'm away to see if it does voice dialling now

The voice dialling isn't great, but I found an app called Choice Dailer (free version) that seems like a better option, works better than the voice search for me anyway.
