How to Make a Folder or Shortcut Invisible

Information
This tutorial shows how to make items invisible. They'll still be there, but won't be visible.

This doesn't work with files because in order to do this you need to remove the entire name of the file. It may work if you have your settings set so that you cannot see known file type extensions, however it doesn't work if you can see the extension because it changes the extension to nothing.

Making Folders Invisible:

Create the Folder

Right Click > Rename > Hold Alt and Press 0160 > Press Enter

Right Click > Properties > Customize > Change Icon > Choose a blank icon (There should be atleast 3)

Making Shortcuts Invisible:

The same process doesn't work with shortcuts because of the arrow. In order to make a shortcut invisible you need to follow the steps above and then do the following:

Download Ultimate Windows Tweaker

Extract the archive > Open folder "UWT..." > Start "Ultimate Windows Tweaker.exe"

Open the "Additional Tweaks" Section > Under "Some Additional Tweaks" check "Remove Arrows from Shortcut Icons"

Restart Computer

Tip
In order to reverse the process, just follow the logical progression. You'd need to rename the item with a name and then change the icon to something other than nothing.
