Default PC - Xbox FTP Transfer speeds

    Hi,

I have been trying to FTP games etc.. to my Xbox and the Speeds i am getting are really bad.

Pc (Win XP Pro) - 100mbit NIC ICS enabled
20m Patch lead into 5 port Switch
Xbox DHCP's an address at 100mbit full duplex
PC NIC is set to auto speed and auto Mode for duplex

SmartFTP gives me a wopping 160k/s in both directions
FTP through command line gives the same

Please don't tell me thats the best i will get

I have read somewhere that there has been issues with full duplex where the Xbox will detect it as half duplex and vice-versa

Can someone help me out as i can't be arsed with waiting 4 hours to upload a 500mb game

    Thanks in advance

    Gimp

Same for me, just that my ADSL connection has twice the upload speed as your connection.... Dunno what to tell you either, just wanted to tell you that it's something about the packets being forwarded to the ADSL modem or something weird....

Hmm I have no idea where that came from Shiver. Its a direct connection PC-SWITCH-XBOX Cable modem is on another NIC. I got the same speeds with a crossover cable aswell so its not the cable

I think its either the Duplex issue or the FTP software

    Gimp.

Ps, Shiver No need to gloat about your fast connection

I had a problem like that with bulletproof ftp. Seems the evox ftp server is flashfxp optimized. Use flashfxp, you should get normal speeds.

Cheers matey, I think that seems to be what everybody else uses. Its weird tho, Its a constant 160k/s it doesn't even fluctuate, Its like its limited.

I will post my results later if anybody is interested.

    Thanks guys
