The husband of a woman who said she’d spotted Google’s camera car as she was out walking the dog got quite a surprise when he logged on to Street View.
He wanted to see if he could spot his wife in any images, and as it turned out, he did. Although not just the one – she actually appeared in 43 different pictures.
The camera car had been crawling around the Suffolk village, following the same route as the dog walker.
It must be pretty strange to see yourself pictured all around your village online. Indeed, if they come visiting that part of Suffolk, tourists will probably be looking for her as a landmark.
Street View has long been a concern of privacy activists, particularly since it increased its photographic coverage to 95% of the UK.
It has been embroiled in controversies including photographing the HQ of the SAS, and recently a man claimed a picture of his open garage and its contents may have been responsible for it being broken into three times.
