Did you not read my very similar thread?

Got a temporary filling for about £16. I was paranoid the temp filling was gonna come off easy so for first few days was very paranoid but I don't even think of it now. Even so, I still think quite often I need to get this properly sorted, but seeing as it will be matched to the colour of my teeth, I've been trying some tooth whitening shit to try and whiten up my teeth a touch before I get the permanent filling, because say I got a filling now and decided to get my teeth whitened in a year or two, then the filling would look well out of place.

I'd be more worried it looks like you have been carrying lead in your mouth for 17 years! Wouldn't this be the same case as if you had a tooth removed?

I had a molar out last year, dentist didn't put anything in there, just left the open wound and now I have a gap. I'm still alive and well. I hate the dentist but go 1 or 2 times a year. Might have another root canal this year

With just over a year since I posted this I had the tooth out today.

It caused me no problems during this time but I was worried with the amount of alcohol I consume that the root canal filling you can see would rot away.

Was original booked into a London Dental hospital just before Christmas as my dentist said it was a big job. Had to cancel that as I had to return up north to look after my mother who became ill.

Decided on a whim last week to make an appointment with a new dentist practice that had just opened. He took an xray and said no problem I can take that out. Book a 15 minute appointment.

One week on and an hour in the chair and its gone.

He had the other dentist in the practice come in and watch as he cut away my gum.

Gutted though as he refused to give me the tooth back.. Said it was a bio hazard.. WTF

Suspect it was more to do with the fact the dental nurse had put it in the bin.

Now to avoid a dry socket ....

cheers for the update JonEp, glad you have finally decided to have it out

try vodka for the dry socket mate, neat of course dont want any nasty cola or anything making it worse!
You know he grew up as a little shitspark from the old shitflint and then he turned into a shitbonfire and driven by the winds of his monumental ignorance he turned into a raging shitfirestorm. If I get to be married to Barb I'll have total control of Sunnyvale and then I can unleash the shitnami tidal wave that will engulf Ricky and extinguish his shitflames forever. And with any luck he'll drown in the undershit of that wave. Shitwaves.

Ask your dentist to clean your teeth and then start whitening them

I had an impacted Wisdom taken out yesterday. What a job that was. The hole they left is massive and I feel like I have had my gum sliced open, a tooth and some jaw line yanked out.

Got a check up this morning, fun times.
