Default Is there a dentist in the house ?

Just removed half of a tooth and its filling which weighs almost an ounce !

The tooth was dead and has its root removed over 17 years ago.

Now all Im left with is half a dead tooth and bits of coloured stuff in the gum ?

Not in any pain. Wondering if I should go to the dentist or not ?

And whats the coloured stuff ?

you know the answer - yes you should go to a dentist. He'll probably also be able to answer the Q on what the other stuff is.

Of course you should visit a dentist, That open gum while get infected in no time, and there's not many pains that are worse.

Hi JonEP - I'm in a very similar situation. I think it shouldn't be left long as this can cause infection of the jaw which can potentially lead to loss of more healthy teeth. We both defo need to see a dentist soon, I'm trying to figure out how desperately we should be heading in.

For the coloured stuff - I'm thinking mixture of the following - sorry not sure which one as I suspect colours didn't quite come out right in that photo:

When enamel wears off a tooth, the stuff inside is a bit of a different colour.
The inside of the tooth is hollow, so when exposed, easily gets filled with food/plaque/etc.
If the tooth has sheared -I'm wondering if it has started to rot and you could be seeing a partially decayed tooth.

That blue bit looks like it could be AIDs. Definitely go to the dentist, then to the doctors.

    Thanks guys.

Yep I think I will make that call.. As I say the tooth has been dead an its roots ripped out for a long time. It was just a shell with a filling as I didn't want it pulled at the time.

I wonder if filling is worth takin down the scrap yard

    Just an update on this:

Not had time to go to the dentist.

Everything has been fine. And the aching I use to get from it has now gone.

You know he grew up as a little shitspark from the old shitflint and then he turned into a shitbonfire and driven by the winds of his monumental ignorance he turned into a raging shitfirestorm. If I get to be married to Barb I'll have total control of Sunnyvale and then I can unleash the shitnami tidal wave that will engulf Ricky and extinguish his shitflames forever. And with any luck he'll drown in the undershit of that wave. Shitwaves.

Necrotic tissue? I appreciate your pluck in testing your immune system. Let us know how long you lasted when they eventually discharge you from hospital. I was thinking about seeing how long I can let my syphilis progress before I go mad. We could compare notes

    "Necrotic tissue"

    You've got me in stitches.

Its just a gum that's healed. Tooth was dead and roots removed 20 odd years ago leaving just a shell which was packed. One wall had broken and I removed the filling. Just the same as people who have crowns that fall off leaving the nice black stump of the dead tooth under it.

    Now syphilis is another matter.

Fuck me. This is another post from people with manky teeth, asking what to do. We don't leave in a third world country. There's loads of fucking dentists about. I used to think Americans were stupid when they went on about Brits having bad teeth. Seems that it must be common outside of London to have a smile like a meth head. I wouldn't know, as if I am in England there's no way I'd step foot more than 50 miles from London.

See a Dentist. You can't be so poor you'd rather walk around looking like you got smacked in the face with a hammer.

    Hygene people. Fuck.
