    Wanted Homeplugs

My homeplugs packed up today. I can't get online with me 360 without them so am after another set. My current ones are 85mbps but will consider faster ones of course

If no-ones selling any do you know where some are cheap?

Actually, only one of them is knackered, the other still has power. Are these interchangeable? Can I buy one of another brand and use them together?

No mate, you'd need the same brand at least. I have 3 (1 of mine broke too lol) comtrend 901s they are the ones that come with the BT vision boxes. They sync at 144meg probably due to the crappy wiring in my house, they are advertised as 200mbps. I paid £35 for each set one from a friend and one set I got off ebay. Apart from one of them not connecting out of the 4 they work well

You shouldn't need the same brand aslong as they BOTH adhere to the same homeplug standard (1.0)

From the reading I did when one of mine went all the advice pointed to buying the same brand.

im about to get some of these for my brother aswell, so this thread has helped me.

    and regarding your question m8

    Hi

Can someone let me know if these would work with other power line adapters or do they all need to be the same make?
Answer by stevenl on Thursday, August 6, 2009
While I cannot guarantee compatibility, as long as the homeplug uses the Homeplug 1.0 standard, then it should be fine.

Got em from here they were on offer at 43 quid but not any more im afraid.

I'm gonna make you all sick I got 2 sets on Sunday at a Car Boot Sale for £8 the 2 sets.
They where Brand New they are the Comtrend 901 free from BT but hey I dont care they saved me a packet.

I would recomend checking your boot sale if you can hang on without them for a few more days. Might not be as lucky as me but you never know.

    Enjoy

    Jay

I am using all 4 just now yes but could get away with 3 if I could get a 4-5 meter ethernet cable for my 360
